Give a summary of the major points of information that you learned. Discuss what was new to you, and what you already knew. Also discuss what surprised you, and how you might be able to use the information that you have learned.
Then click on the title of this post to read an excerpt from this book. Once you are finished reading the excerpt, write a response which answers the following:
Give a summary of the major points of information that you learned. Discuss what was new to you, and what you already knew. Also discuss what surprised you, and how you might be able to use the information that you have learned.
Post both responses in the COMMENTS section of this posting. Be sure to include your full name in your response. If you prefer, you may also email your responses to classof2009ohs@gmail.com. Again, be sure to include your full name in your response.
As an extension of this assignment, you may choose to read the entire book. If you choose to read the book, you should keep a reading log containing the following information:
1. Heading – Write a heading that has the date, how many minutes you read, how many pages you read, and why you stopped reading.
2. Summary – Write a brief summary of what you read.
3. Reflection – Answer the following questions:
* What did you learn?
* What did you already know?
* What surprised you?
* What do you think comes next?
You should email your completed reading log to classof2009ohs@gmail.com by the start of the new school year in September 2008. Alternatively, you can keep your reading log in a notebook and submit to your English 4 teacher in the fall.
Good luck!
